HTC reported its reviewed quarterly financial statements as follows: (In Thousands) Ending June 30 2nd Quarter For 6 months 1996 1995 1996 1995 HTC Net profit 10,357 28,401 29,815 50,886 EPS (Baht) 0.78 2.14 2.24 3.83 Haad Thip Plc (HTC) reported its Q2/1996 financial statement as having lower net profits than the same period of last year by more than 20% because of the following: 1. The period of April-June was quite rainy, therefore, reduced the number of tourists that will come to Phuket, Krabi, Samui. 2. The slowing economy, higher cost of living, lower rubber price, palm oil price, and lower fishing revenues and seafood industry. 3. The growth of carbonated drinks in the country for the first half was 4% which was lower than expected by every company. The company, however, had a growth of 6% in the first half of 1996. However, it is expected that the consumption rate in the second-half of the year in the southern part will expand if all the obstacles are eliminated.
